Evolis unveils new Dual encoder supports all card printers in the Evolis range

Angers, France, June 06 2011 . Evolis, a leading supplier of solutions for plastic card personalization, announces the launch of the new Evolis Dual Encoder based on a technology from SCM Microsystems, a leading provider of solutions for secure access, secure identity and secure exchange.

Evolis has capitalized on a technology from SCM Microsystems (in collaboration with Elyctis, an expert in advanced card readers) to design an encoder that supports both smart contact and contactless RFID cards. This dual encoder is fully compliant with the Evolis range of card personalization systems.

“We realized that companies, governments and financial institutions were increasingly  looking for sophisticated solutions to personalize their payment cards, transport passes or ID cards, to name just a few of the multifarious card-based applications. These solutions must integrate technologies that provide sound answers to issues such as flow optimization and data integrity . To fill this void experienced by our resellers and end-users, we have decided to introduce a dual encoder that would support all Evolis printers as well as multifeature cards ”, said Eric Bouvard, Product Marketing Manager, Evolis.

This new encoder can easily be integrated in the Pebble, Dualys, Quantum and Securion printers and offers powerful technical and technological features. It guarantees superior performances with fast-reading throughput and foolproof security for data. This scalable add-on supports up to three SAM slots, which makes it a flexible encoder to serve any type of secured applications.

Thanks to its PC/SC printer drivers for Windows XP & 7, the new Evolis Dual Encoder is a key enabler for instant issuance projects or large-scale card production environments.
