GALITT and EVOLIS: optimizing and enhancing the reliability of the issuance of multi-interface cards

Boulogne (France), September 17th, 2010 - With the development of EMV multi-applicative dual-interface cards (contact and contactless), those ones are more complex. It is not unusual to find four applications and more, on the same card. The time for controlling the conformity in personalization bureaus or at issuers is increasing significantly. In addition to this extra charge, the cycle of key renewal has been also increased. This has an affect on the balance of the productivity too.

Faced with such issues, GALITT and EVOLIS combined their efforts to offer a fully automated testing solution for dual interface cards. First of all the solution relies on the Personalization Validation Tool, VISUCARD®, developed by GALITT and used by main personalization bureaus and issuers. On the other hand the solution uses the high performance system, QUANTUM 2 from EVOLIS, offering a capacity of 500 cards and a flexible encoding module. Both products are integrated and fully automated. They are able to qualify batches of cards before executing mass-production. The solution suits all issuers requiring to test exhaustively a significant quantity of cards during each qualification batch.
