What is the difference between the A and B position of the encoding module?

This first thing to remember is to always switch off the printer before any encoding module manipulation.
The A position which is the standard one is used to encode magnetic card with the strip on the bottom and smart cards with the smart on the top:

On the B position, the magnetic strip can be encoded from the top and the smart from the bottom:

For example, if you need to print data on the same side than the magnetic stripe, this B position will increase your production speed, because cards will not be flipped.
