What is the difference between a hologram and a patch ribbon?

The patch ribbon is used to extend the printed card lifespan to 6 years (0.6mil patch) and 9 years (1mil patch) and protect it from wear and tear, scratches, or UV radiation.
The hologram ribbon is used to fight any forgeries or duplication through a scanner or a color copy machine. It will protect you card for 2 years.
