| During the past few months, the media, as in every
far-flung corner of the globe, have made their
headlines speaking about the ongoing economic
downturn. Several people around me have asked as to
what strategies has, or will, Evolis come up with to
overcome such dire times and successfully ride out
this global financial tsunami. |
 |
| Well, I have this to say: a corporate strategy does
not fluctuate or buckle under the course of events
however dramatic or volatile such turbulence may be.
One has to stick steadfastly to his vision, belief,
and business model, and adapt to the situation. |
 |
| Exceptional situations, similar to the one we are
currently experiencing, can generate opportunities
that are equally exceptional, and actually reshape
adversity into the key to boosting business for a
company and for its distribution network. I am
convinced that such opportunities now exist for each
of you, and thus, for us. More than ever, we must
stay the course to succeed as a single entity. |

How about tackling this crisis by relying even
further on our creativity, responsiveness,
quality and pragmatic opportunism? And as this
new year begins in a doubtful way, we all also
need sound ethics and common sense to help our
developments and projects be sustainable in the
long run. |

| Another year has passed marked by the opening of our
Representative Office in Tokyo, a new and
strengthened sales team in Singapore, the arrival of
several new members to our EMEA Sales Team in Angers
and, last but not the least, the pleasure of
welcoming many new partners to our network. |

| This confirms our determination in pursuing our
long-term objectives by developing our activity in a
larger number of vertical and geographical markets,
and the current events, caused by the recent
economic recession, only encourages us to work even
harder to identify and generate new business
opportunities. |

| These are the times during which we have to
demonstrate perseverance and creativity, and we
place full confidence in our partners and our own
capabilities to overcome this year’s new challenges. |

In 2009, we will face more challenges mainly due
to the difficult economic situation. But over the
