Evolis opens an Office in China!
To strengthen its presence in Asia, Evolis has opened a representative office in Shenzhen, China, since the 16th of February.
This new entity, located in the heart of one of the most dynamic areas in the country, will go a long way in managing local partnerships, and in initiating new channel partnerships around the Evolis range of solutions for card personalization.
Sam Wang, formerly working in the headquarters in France, has been appointed to this new office. Sam brings a comprehensive sales and technical expertise as well as an in-depth understanding of the local market.

New! Ribbon with signature panel Evolis has launched a new ribbon, specially designed to allow manual writing in ink on PVC laminated cards signature panel.
Evolis has, therefore, launched a new ribbon, specially designed to allow manual writing in ink. It imparts semi-opacity, has good ink absorption properties, New! Ribbon with signature panel
and can be affixed to PVC laminated cards. This signature panel ribbon is available in white and can be used on our entire range of Pebble and Dualys printers.

Financial report for FY 2008: profitability and
strong cash flow generation

As unveiled to the financial press at the beginning of March, Evolis reported revenues of 36.7 M€ in 2008, an increase of 2.2% compared to 2007. Despite adverse economic conditions, Evolis remains on a growth trend thanks to buoyant performance from its channel partners, especially in the EMEA and Americas areas.
Revenues for large projects have decreased from the excellent level reported in 2007, due to several investment decisions that have been postponed.
Net earnings have jumped by 5% to 4.9 M€, and represent a profitability ratio of 13.4% of revenues, against 13 % in 2007.
Evolis expects an environment which should be less dynamic in 2009, and has taken several decisions to adjust its cost structure, and uphold its competitiveness and margins. The group intends to share even further standard mechanical and electronic components between its different printers. This approach has already been implemented, right from the design phase of its next-generation printers.

A sales, industrial and technology-based
alliance in Brazil

A sales, industrial and technology-based Evolis announces that it had strengthened its presence in Brazil through a sales, industrial and technology-based agreement with Sonsun, the leader in the Brazilian identification market.
To enhance responsiveness to this buoyant market and help Evolis position itself as the next leader in Brazil, the final assembly steps of the Evolis printers will be carried out by Sonsun in its production unit based in Manaus, Northern Brazil. This strategic partnership should help Evolis rapidly take the lead on the Brazilian market.

Evolis will soon showcase its entire range of plastic card printers at Cards Asia 2009, Asia’s largest and most comprehensive smartcard exhibition.
This event will take place from the 22nd to the 24th of April in the SUNTEC Singapore International Convention Center & Exhibition Center. You can meet Evolis at booth #4J05 in Hall #402.
